Useful Mobile Apps During Your Stay In Israel

Whatsapp

On our training camps we use Whatsapp daily to communicate with fellow camp participants. Stay up to date on where to meet, share camp pictures and make dinner plans. You don’t need a local number and can connect to anyone as long as you have an internet connection. Israelis don’t SMS, we use Whatsapp. A large part of this is because we receive so many spam messages via sms. This has led most Israelis to ignore sms and use Whatsapp instead. Most of the major companies in Israel even offer support via Whatsapp messenger.

Gett

Uber never made it big in Israel due to government regulations. Gett is the go-to app for ordering taxis. It works very similar to Uber but with Taxis. You can pay via credit card and drivers on this service are generally polite and honest.

Moovit

This is a great app for public transport developed in Israel. Simply enter where you want to go and it will work out the best route via public transport with live updates. It will tell you when to get off the bus/train and you can even use it to pay for your fare.

Wolt

One of the best things in Tel Aviv is the food. Wolt can have it delivered straight to your hotel/Airbnb. 90% of the restaurants in Tel Aviv work with Wolt. Want a bit of a preview? You can try it now. Enter any address in Tel Aviv and it will show you what your food options will be. Try: 120 Ben Yehuda Street Tel Aviv
